Similar to Chinese Qi Qong or American Therapeutic Touch, Reiki is a gentle & relaxing process that takes place fully clothed while resting on a massage table. It can be used as a stand alone treatment modality, or better yet, as one aspect of an integrated approach. It is extremely synergistic with all other healing methods, And it is extremely easy to learn. Few healing modalities exist in this world that are simple to learn, yet as profoundly powerfully as is Reiki. Few things are more universally soothing as is the power of human touch. The power of one person reaching out to help another. This is the power of Reiki.
Originally taught to monks as a instrument of spiritual enlightenment it has evolved into a means of healing that is used worldwide by both the lay people and by the licensed professional. In private homes, nursing homes, clinics and even in hospitals.
The results are as amazing as the process. Often times they are simple and direct, and other times profoundly significant --But always just what is needed for that person at that time.
Whether you would use it solely as a means of personal growth, or you would use it to help others, you owe it to yourself to consider this path. Because everyone who has undergone this process will tell you that they have had their lives permanently changed for the better.

Course Outline -
The morning is a general presentation on the history, traditions, and philosophy of Reiki. Myths and reality's of Reiki are discussed, and an explanation of what it is and how it works. Also included is a portion dedicated to the Ethics of Reiki Practice. This ensures that every student has a clear understanding of this area before they start using Reiki. Explanation of what will transpire during the attunement process and what to expect afterwards is given such that each student may decide for themselves if they wish to proceed. This is followed by a period of personal reflection during which time the master is available for questions and private discussions. This allows each student time and knowledge to decide for themselves if they wish to be attuned or not. Attunements are passed for those who desire, then there is a break for the individual to adjust to the experience. A group lunch will be available for all who wish to share in this. The afternoon is dedicated to a hands on learning experience allowing the student to work on actual people under the supervision of the master. This gives the students the practical knowledge and the confidence they need to allow them to use their new art. In some locations an optional second day of supervised practice may be available to the student if they so desire. There is no expectation or obligation to attend this second day.
What about 2nd Degree?
The 2nd Degree course is an advanced course that requires a solid foundation in the basics first, before one is able to move on. Not having this foundation puts stress upon the learning process, as well as upon the physical body by forcing it to adapt to quickly. A minimum period of 3- 6 months is usually required for your body to adjust to the 1st Degree before proceeding on to the next level. At the 2nd Degree course you will receive additional attunements that will increase your power and scope of practice. Also additional exercises and tools to further increase these abilities will be given. Full details will be given in your 1st Degree course. Although some other teachers offer a combined Level 1 & 2 course this is not the recommend approach, and is clearly spoken against by Dr. Usui in his original teachings.
