Student Centered Experiential Learning

Bringing the education to you with small classes,  relaxing and fun learning environment,
and KISMIF teaching.

Teaching styles

Our mission is to get you to achieve high level functional knowledge and skills to enable you to do your new job well. This is why we focus on the end product of a functional outcome, and not on details of the process.

To do this we use a wide variety of teaching methods and styles to keep things interesting and to facilitate deep learning.

    • Power Teaching, a proven technique for integrated learning, is used to teach important data
    • Skits and stories are frequently used to demonstrate concepts and applications
    • Group discussion ensures multiple viewpoints are examined and explored
    • Live demonstrations of the techniques by faculty on a willing student
    • Lots of hands on practice to make sure you can apply the knowledge

After a practice session you and your classmates will have a group feedback to review what everyone has just experienced.  These discussions crystallize your learning and you learn from the experiences of your classmates.

Having used these skills successfully in the classroom you will then go home to practice your new skills several times.  This Self-Directed learning outside the classroom is guided and recorded in your Assessment Journal (homework book) for faculty and self review.  These journals then become are a permanent resource to your lifelong learning process.

Our Classrooms - Stimulating,  Challenging   &  Fun!

  • Our classrooms are always relaxing and fun.  It is proven that humor in education increases learning and retention of knowledge so we use this frequently.  Our faculty and teaching staff are specifically trained in KISMIF  (Keep It Simple, Make It Fun) so laughter is one of the most common sounds you will hear in our classrooms.
  • Our classroom is your playground.  Sit & Stay is way passé.  Here we believe in Away and Play.
Guided experiential learning uses a brief intro, live demo and then has you away from the tables and chairs and up in small groups playing with the new materials to really get an understanding of it.  Then when you come back we go around and get your feedback and discuss it as now you know what to ask about.

Class size

  • We keep our classes small to maximize teacher to student ratio.  For college programs classes are typically 20 students.
  • Continuing education classes usually run 20-40 people depending on the topic.  For larger classes or more technically intense classes we will use teaching assistants to help out such that we have enough teaching staff in the room to answer questions and to be available to help you out with special attention when it is needed or helpful.

  • Kinesiology - multitude of benefits

Having the pie and eating it too...

My journey into the world of energy kinesiology (ek) has been beyond amazing. I first came across ek during a one day workshop and was blown away at the techniques that I saw and experienced that day. And when Ken said ‘this is just preschool’. I was like ‘wow, I want to know more about this stuff’.

A few months later, I saw the Practitioner program was being run. I had to leap in. I had no idea what I was getting into (which turned out to be a very good thing).

One year down the track, I can say my life has changed dramatically (for the best), I can not put into words the profound impact this course has had on my life, with the most beneficial and intangible being the change that has occurred internally. I have had a truly amazing year.

As a registered nurse, I came from a very structured, linear way of looking at ‘disease’. The EK course showed, taught and allowed me to experience that there is a WHOLE other way to treat and experience the body and mind.

Since staring the course, my sister and dad now both see a kinesiologist on a regular basis after seeing the positive change EK had on my life and being (and also from being my ‘homework practice’ people).

This college is like no other, if the thought of another essay, tireless hours of tedious research makes you run for the hills, run for EK if you are looking to experience and learn an amazing health modality (even if it is just for yourself). Ken and Erin are GREAT teachers.

I have a favorite saying that I always use, “everything is just a different slice of the same pie”. In the healing slice of that pie, EK takes the cake!

From my own experience, Kinesiology is the one healing art that will provide you with a multitude of benefits, all wrapped up into one package. All you need to have is an open mind, willingness to learn and a way of leaving preconceived notions behind. In a Kinesiology class, you will probably have an experience that is very different from what you are used to in other educational settings. If you expect to just sit there, listen, absorb and absorb some more, then, you’re in for a surprise. In a Kinesiology educational setting, we listen to faculty present material and demonstrate the technique. But, soon after, we’ll get up and apply it. It is hands on learning, with YOU, as the primary focus. As you learn the material, practice the skills, and get comfortable with them, you will notice that you feel lighter. By lighter, I mean you are dealing with your own personal issues and releasing, while in class learning these wonderful skills that you can later go home and use to do your homework, help family and friends, as well as other willing volunteers to work on their personal issues too.

The beauty of kinesiology lies in that it allows you to work both vertically and horizontally. You learn the skills and methods to releasing old baggage, so that you can make room for the new being to shine through. As you work through your stuff, you grow emotionally and spiritually as a result. I know this from experience. The changes and transformations I had during the course of my studies are beyond words. My transformations included physical, emotional, mental and most importantly to me, spiritual levels. The most gratifying aspect to Kinesiology is that the experience and skills you gain are timeless. You grow and evolve as a person, you use what you learn to help family and friends grow as well, and as you launch your new practice, you help fellow humans, one balance at a time. Whether you decide to take a year, or continue on for the entire 4-year program, your return on investing in yourself will be priceless. I hope you’ll agree.
